Wow you are way ahead of me.  I set up a fan page and somehow lost it.  I could not figure out where it went because apparently I never published it.  I'll try again.  I think this was one of those late night my brain was frazzled things.

But I totally agree about not bombarding your friends with ads.  I even have some friends (who I generally like) who I want to unfriend as they blab incessantly  20 times a day about burnt toast or cutting their toenails.  Do I really need to know that?

Ok on your fan page...below your photo there's a list of options to use

promote page
add fan box
send update etc.

It usually shows the first 3 that I listed, and then there's a "more" option you can click on. It should then show the option "suggest to friends" it'll take you to your friend list and then you can click on who you want to suggest the page to. It then sends that person a message saying you suggested the page and they then have the option to become a fan

Sandy, I'll walk you thru setting up a fan page later today. I'm heading out the door now though. My English husband has to go get his American drivers license!

Sandy, a fan page is different from your regular FB page in that you can set it up specifically for your shop.  Then instead of posting updates on your regular page and bombard RL friends and such with your shop updates, you can post directly as your shop and post updates that way.  You get to create a whole new page with info just about your shop, a new avatar, everything.  You can even put up discussion topics about shop policies or whatever.  Then people can become a "fan" of your fan page and hopefully you'll get some customers that way.  Plus you can post links there so people will know where your shop and blog are.  As an example, you can check out my fan page:  www.facebook.com/monkeeta  If you follow that link, there should be a link in the bottom left navigation bar to click to start your own fan page too (and a button up top to become my fan  )

fiberpuppy, you can still save your page that you "lost".  If you search for the name you named your page, it should come up (in the search box where you would search for a friend or something).  I did this too, and was able to find my unpublished page by searching for it.  Just make sure to click on Publish once you're done so other people can find it and become a fan.

Facebook can be tricky and is not very user friendly

most of the applications runs only for the personal page, so I think my fan page is rather annoying

Now I really do feel stupid!!!!  I have facebook (somehow) son set it up for me, nothing on it tho, I can play bingo there, but thats not helping my store either!!!  I need all the help I can get.  I still don't know how to post links or anything else.  Do we have any really smart people who have no life who want to spend theirs teaching me????  I'm sorry to be so dumb but I didn't grow up with a puter in my lap!  More like a dull pencil!
