Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month I was thinking anyone who is having a promo to support this cause could post here. My Mom is a survivior since 1993 so I have a soft spot for this particular cause.
I saw in another thread that OooohShiny has a promo:
I just started a section in my shop called "Sassies For A Cause". When items from this section are purchased, I will donate $5 from each item to Driving Miss Darby. To find out more about this foundation, visit
I plan on leaving this section up year round:

I am working on some 'pink' items for breast cancer awareness, and will be giving 25% of all the 'pink' items i sell in my store. I'm getting some pink ribbon and making some breast cancer awareness ribbons to go with these 'pink' items and will be getting those up soon.
Great cause and defiently worth others thinking about.

Hi everyone! What are the chances that the first time I log into our pages I land right on top of a breast cancer post?!
My shop is dedicated to all things boobs or at least saving the real ones My mom is a survivor and my hero so after volunteering for years for SGK and the Breast Cancer 3-Day I finally decided to walk 60 miles in 3 days and to do that I had to raise $2300 so I opened a shop on Etsy to support my efforts for the 2009 Boston 3-Day (which was amazing)!
The first year my shop failed miserably because I didn't show it the love and care it deserved but 2 weeks into my second year, I just completed a renovation of my shop and already have notched a sale! All proceeds from my shop go to my walking for the 2010 Chicago Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure (the 3-Day and Komen have officially joined together).

Crafts for cures your shop looks great!! Lots of attention to detail.
Since we're on the breast cancer thread. All you knitters. I just posted on my blog (all pertinent b. cancer info is here) re knitting fake boobs. Sounds funny, but a lady from knitty who lost her breast found that soft knitted boobs were more comfortable and more realistic. Probably depends upon the yarn. I've totally wanted to make these to donate to local breast cancer support center. Here's the link
Also, right after I finished chemo radiation and surgury I did the coolest thing. Our local community had a fashion show to support local breast cancer efforts (mammos, food transportation etc) All the models are survivors. What a rush. I'm thinking next year of seeing if they won't wear some of my stuff in the fashion show. I'll totally donate. It's a big deal here. When I modeled Willie Brown (ex mayor of San Francisco was the MC. They have an auction as well. Funniest thing the auction for breakfast with the local fire department raised 3X more money than breakfast with Willie Brown. I have to admit I'd vote the same way (the firemen were also models and they were sooo cute).
Sorry for gushing.

Hi Everyone! It's Trish from LakeTyeDye here... ;-)
It's been suggested to me by a few ETSY folks that I should consider more PINK items, both for the young and young at heart. Being that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month I can understand the call for Pink. My question is, would any of you or your friends buy a garment that is solely Pink tie-dye even if it wasn't a special awareness month?
I'm considering making a couple sections in my shop that will be for donating some or all of the proceeds to charity. I'll have a Pink shop section for Breast Cancer awareness. And I was thinking of having a Red shop section for ALS.
Honestly, I'd love to have ALL of the colors represented in my shop! I am the tie-dye junkie afterall!!!
Any feedback you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you All,
Trish

I did a couple of bracelets for Breast Cancer and in every item in my shop a portion gets donated to Breast Cancer Research and awareness as well as a few other charities. I've not had any sales yet in my shop but the stuff I have sold offline, I take so much from each thing I've sold and divide it up between the charities close to my heart. I have a family full of Breast Cancer survivors as well as an aunt we lost to Breast Cancer

and btw Trish, I love the color pink so in my case I definitely buy things pink even if it isn't awareness month

laketyedye, very cute shop! Pink has always been one of my favorite colors so I would wear something all pink year round.

fiberpuppy, the knitted boobies is a great idea....I forwarded the link to my Mom to share with her support group

Knitted boobies make me giggle but I could see how they would be more comfortable. My mom wears a prosthetics and during the 3-Day the prostatic would make her sweat more so it wasn't the most comfortable.

This is a terrific thread!!! I am featuring Etsy shops on my blog this month that are focused on Breast Cancer Awareness! I will now make sure that I list you guys!
I am also happy to report that I have raised $1,000 for Kristi's girls. Kristi was my husband's college friend who just passed away from breast cancer this summer leaving behind three young girls. I am selling earrings in my shop in her honor and ALL proceeds go to a college fund that my husband set up for her kids.

wow Julie, thats fantastic!!! i havent sold any of my pink items on etsy, so whatever i do sell i'm going to give half to a local cancer research charity in my area. I've sold a few items to friends and family so, once i have a decent amount collected then i can get that sent off.
Well done, thats a fantastic achievement
