I've started listing my Christmas ornaments:
I'm aiming to have about 20 of them up in the next week or so (I have to order some more supplies).
I'm struggling with photos as the items are small and I can only get so many detail shots. I guess I could do one with them in my hand to show scale?
Do you think the prices are fair? My mother (who is my partner in the shop) is worried they are too much, but they are hand illustrated...
Also, could I get some feedback on my mats? People tell me they love them, but they aren't selling yet and so far my efforts on twitter and FB are not helping. I know I have a lot more to do... and I have some good things in the pipeline, but I want some sales now!!

Your ornaments are beautiful. I love the angel. I don't think the price is too much.

Hello Two Cats, I hope this comes out right, it's my first posting. I reviewed your store on 10/04/09 at 9:18pm. I really like your shop. Your banner is very nice. I like what you have for sale. I have done scrap booking in the past and I know the prices for those items can get very high. Going by that info I think your prices are fair. I don't know if that helps but, hopefully it does. ; )
And I love your stuff. I do want to comment that I was confused when I was looking for your christmas frames. I selected holiday first and that took me to Halloween. Maybe a retitle of that one to Halloween/Fall mats or frames? Then Chrismas ones maybe as Chrismas/Winter frames? The pitcures for the Christmas ones are very good and do give a lot of details.
As far as how to help sell them I am still waiting for my first sale.
I was soooo excited when I saw your posting because my mother and I are working as a team too. We also has stuff in local store that is similar to what have on Etsy and it's selling. So I don't personally know what I am doing wrong?
PLease feel free to critique my shop: I could use all the help I can get.
Do you recommend having a facebook, twitter, myspace?
I hope I helped you and didn't hurt you. Best of sales hope to hear from you soon!!!!

I think that we have a lot of teams here. My mother in law and I are working together. She sews and monograms and I knit and crochet.

I think your prices are more than fair, and the ornaments are really cute! Your photos are nice and clear. What about adding a photo showing the back view? I've started doing that with my earrings.

Amanda (Whimsey)... your stuff is sooo cute. And it's cool you have so many seasonal items. One thing I noticed is you might want to be more specific in your item titles. For example,
Feel free to critique me.. I can always use help.

Hi All,
I'm starting to work on some lower priced items for my shop. I just made this iphone cozy How much should I charge for this?? I put it on my blog because I don't want to keep changing prices. Suggestions??
Oh and yes this does date me. I remember using rotary phones.

Oh, that is a cute cozy. I'm thinking $20-$25 would be a fair price for it (depending of course on what your expenses for are.. i have no idea). I looked at some other cozies and most were $15-$18 but they were not felted. Just a guess

I like that cozy it's cute...and yes i'm old enough to remember rotary phones...well...my grandma had one in her house when I was a kid....LOL I agree with sandy on the price...I think that would be reasonable seeing the work that goes into it. I was reading about felting crochet pieces

OMG!! Yay! You made one!
I love it - I definitely remember rotary phones. There is something soothing about the sound they make when you dial them, isn't there?
Hmmm. I think $20-25 as well, provided that covers your costs. Is anyone else on Etsy making felted cozies? My only suggestion for change would be the wooden button. For some reason that doesn't work for me - maybe the color?
Fibrepuppy, I'm glad you posted today because I just came across an article I clipped out when I lived in England about felting. Here is the artist's web site if you're interested - though I think she's doing a different type of felting that you do.

Thanks all. The costs are minimum as I felted a salvation army sweater. Thanks for the felt link really good inspiration. Maybe I'll head to JoAnn and look for another button. (Dangerous territory as I cannot get out of that store with only one thing.)

Well guys i've had this done for close to a week now and just now got around to taking pics and getting it listed! Let me know what you think!! Is the price fair considering it has free shipping?

Christy,
I think it's great. It's a perfect office present for someone. I think the price is fair as well. Buyers are paying not only for the handmade gift but for the convenience of putting something together on a theme.
good luck

Oh Christy, I really like these. I'm a big coffee lover. These will sell for sure!
In fact, you should do more of these for Christmas! People love giving gift baskets.

Christy, I too think these are a great idea, especially with the holiday season coming up. Maybe you could offer Christmas/Holiday wrap as well, like red or green ribbon, etc. Just a thought. Definitely a good idea for the office or teacher. Clever way of getting your products recognized!

well I figure offering the free shipping would be an incentive. granted i'm only offering it domestically right now, but I suppose I could add something into the listing saying they need to convo for international shipping options. As it is it's going to cost me around 10 bucks just to ship it domestically :-/ I really want to do more in fact i'm thinking of doing another one just like this. I was contemplating some different themes/ideas for the upcoming christmas rush. Like putting in apple cider or hot cocoa instead of coffee. I didn't really have much option with the wrapping where I looked, but i'm sure I could find something different. My husband thought I was crazy for charging $30 but I told him with the free shipping it balances out.

What a great gift idea. I think you got yourself a winner.

Christy, I think that's really cute! And it's at a great price point I think. If you were to buy something like that at a store, it would cost at least that much after tax. And yours is handmade, which is so much better than just a store bought item. I think these will sell!! And I like the idea of offering other drink options, like cider and cocoa. Really cute for the holidays! You can even do a tea basket!
