Theme for October

Will there be a theme for October?  Maybe something fall related.  Just wondering.  It was discussed in one of the areas and I think that it would be a good motivator.

Re: Theme for October

Well i'm definitely up for a theme I think that's a great idea. Well being that it's fall we could do something fall related, certain colors, pumpkins, leaves, stuff like that.

Re: Theme for October

twocatscreative, the idea is just to create a theme each month to keep us motivated and creative and share what we have come up with and perhaps add them to our stores!

so should we do a general fall theme for october? or be more specific?

Re: Theme for October

Well, I've already got a load of fall and Halloween stuff in my shop (I say load, it's really not in the grand scheme of things of course!). TBH, unless this batch sells, I won't add more. I'm going to have a special promotion for them all starting tomorrow I think. It pains me to say it, but I'm already working on Christmas stuff!

That said, tomorrow is a craft supply shopping day, so you never know what will catch my eye!

Re: Theme for October

Only thing I have right now is my Circle of Fire necklace.  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31203970  It's black and orange, does that count??

It's carnelian nuggets on sterling silver.

Re: Theme for October

I've got a pumpkin.  Maybe this will inspire me to finish my scarecrow sometime before Halloween.

Re: Theme for October

soulstone321, I love the necklace. It fits both categories fall and Halloween.  I have a few things that will qualify:

Re: Theme for October

I have a black and orange headband up in my shop, and I just made a fall color tutu (brown, goldenrod, and bronze).  I'll get that up in the next few days and tag it with our team name.

Re: Theme for October

lol

well we really need a theme that will inspire us toc reate something new!

fall is a little general, i have a few items which i created for the fall season so i probably wouldnt want to go creating more!

I'm already thinking about christmas items, i added things which can be good as stocking fillers already!!  getting in nice and early!

what about something like 'a winter wedding', or 'leaves', 'stars'...etc...so it's not just a fall theme and see what we come up with?

Re: Theme for October

Ok, well, hmmmm *scratches head* Since it's october we could do something like pumpkins, pumpkin colored items etc. I like the leaves idea too, using fall leaf colors or integrating leaf items into pieces.

Let me ask you guys this, when you think of fall what's the first thing that comes to mind?

Re: Theme for October

I was part of a themed photography challenge for my Project 365. In that case, we kept the themes pretty general so that everyone could interpret things in a manner suitable to their work.

So, IMO, a theme like 'leaves' is good.

As for what I think of first, I always see in my head one of those autumn-y farmer's markets with pumpkins, hay rides, gourds, indian corn, etc. I missed that like crazy when I was in the UK and I can't *wait* to take my boys to one.

Re: Theme for October

I think about that same type of thing, only thing is I live in the desert now and we don't really get that here. That's why I kind of miss the northwest.  I really would love to take my oldest to a pumpkin patch! I miss the changing of the leaves, and seeing them across a valley mixed in with the evergreen trees, the fresh smell after a rain, getting all bundled up and drinking hot cider. Ugh. I don't miss the rain in general though

Re: Theme for October

i think of the trees losing their leaves...lots of rain.....umm.....thats about it!

Re: Theme for October

Ok well I think Leaves is a good theme, lets roll with that. I guess we can all do what our interpretation of that would be, doesn't necessarily have to include leaf shapes, could mean colors etc. So yeah Leaves it is

Re: Theme for October

I just sold my orange beads. All that I have for Halloween are these jumbo  spider die cuts

Since we are well into October we could carry the Fall theme through Thanksgiving, perhaps. I will have to see what else I can come up with.
